What is Free Software?

Free Software is a kind of computer program published by the authors with their express permission for anyone wishing to copy it, study how it works, modify it and redistribute the modifications.

Who is this event aimed at?

Any member of the public can attend. There are activities planned for computer users, IT professionals, amateur developers...

How much does entry cost?

Entry is free but although the capacity is large it’s necessary to register beforehand because there is a limit.

Are there places nearby to eat at?

We prepare a light lunch so the attendees don’t need to leave. The Trades Fairs and Congress Centre has its own restaurant.

When will the Speakers and programme be known?

The Speakers are yet to be confirmed and the programme is being finalised. We expect to have it ready by the beginning of September.

How can I participate more actively and demonstrate my support for free software?

You can attend as a volunteer, give a conference or workshop, etc., or even sponsor part of the event and have your own stand. The left-hand menu will direct you to the pages for clarifying the requirements for each of these options.

Do you have to know how to speak English to attend?

That’s not necessary. There will be a simultaneous translation service for the main Speakers. What is certain is that a knowledge of English will help you to meet interesting attendees and Speakers from all over the world who attend this kind of event.
